TBR.ca has developed the early bid incentive as a method to allow members an opportunity to obtain their desired domain name at a reduced price. The early bid incentive operates on tiered discount which is calculated by when your bid has been placed.
TBR.ca auctions start on Wednesday at 4 PM EST and run until the following Friday at 8 PM EST. The early bid incentive is tiered by percentage based on when the member places the winning bid. If a member places what turns out to be the winning bid before 11:59 PM EST on Wednesday then that member will receive 20% off their purchase price. If the winning bid is placed by a member before 11:59 EST on Thursday than the winning bidder will be eligible for a 10% discount. There are no discounts offered for winning bids placed after 11:59 EST on Thursday under the early bid incentive.
The early bid incentive is available to all members who are taking part in the auction. However members will need to note that if they have not backordered the domain they are allowed only one bid on the domain but they are otherwise still eligible for the early bid incentive. The other factor that members will need to know is that while proxybids are eligible for the early bid incentive, the amount of the discount received will be based upon when the proxybid was entered or updated. Regardless of how a member places the winning bid, the early bid incentive will be automatically added to your invoice.
Example:
John places a proxy bid of $1,000 on Wednesday, on Thursday Brian places a $1,100 bid outbidding John. John updates his proxy bid to $2,000 on Thursday. The final price at the end of the auction is $1,700. John wins the auction with the proxy bid he placed on Thursday and receives a discount of $170.00 on his invoice
